Summer 2025 tax payments can be made without penalty between December 1, 2025, and March 3, 2025.

Summer tax bills can be paid at the township office until March 3rd (with penalty).

IN-PERSON: Taxes can be paid in person at the township hall during regular office hours.

For your convenience, the Township Offices will also have special extended hours on Monday, March 2, 2025, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm for tax payments.

Clam Lake Township facilitates the collection of real and personal property taxes for the State, County, Township, as well as Public Schools within this Township. There are three public school districts within Clam Lake Township. Cadillac Public Schools (C.A.P.S.) encompasses the largest area, followed by Pine River, and McBain Rural Public Schools. C.A.P.S. requires half of the operating and debt taxes to be collected in the summer, and the other half in the winter. Pine River and McBain Schools require all taxes to be collected on the winter tax bill.

ue to recent legislation, starting with Summer 2005, the county operating tax will be collected 1/3 on the summer tax bill, and 2/3 on the winter tax bill. In 2006, 2/3 of this tax will be collected on the summer tax bill, and 1/3 on the winter tax bill. Beginning with 2007 and thereafter, 100% of this tax will be collected in the summer.

Summer tax bills are due and payable to the Township Treasurer from July 1st through September 15th each year without penalty. From September 16th through February 28th, the summer taxes are still payable through the township treasurer. However, 1% per month penalty is added to the base amount. Beginning March 1st each year, summer tax rolls are turned over to the County Treasurer for collection. Further penalties apply and increase monthly.
